Making Room in Your Heart with Wild Mustangs: Equine Therapy - [$]

Join Erin Cain of Wild Grace, a Path Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor & Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, for this intimate, untethered group equine therapy workshop. After arriving via shuttle from Mountain Village to her ranch Down Valley in Placerville, Colorado, we will work individually with the horses in a group setting.

The presence of the horse creates a non-judgmental space where participants can express themselves freely and learn valuable life skills. See yourself clearly and without judgment through the eyes of your partnering horse. They don’t care what you’re wearing, what you do for work, what you drive, where you live. They just see You, Remember You.

The human heart produces a magnetic field detectable 3 feet around the body in all directions. A horse’s electromagnetic field measures 5 times larger! Being in their heart space can influence our heart rhythm in a positive, calming, and joyful way. A great way to open your heart and begin the weekend!

Space, Sky, Rivers, & Ground: Embodying the Elements in Yoga

Amidst the stunning backdrop of Telluride, we are called to embody the elements of yoga. For centuries, yogis have understood the microcosm of the body to be inseparable from the elements that give rise to the bones, blood, breath, and nerves. The art of practice involves finding a coordinated balance between each of the five elements-- earth, water, fire, air, and space. In this in-depth study, we explore the anatomical, energetic, and psycho-spiritual qualities of each element. Through postures, breathwork, meditation, and sound, we build stability and ease within the five elements. Tias teaches through imagery, anatomical drawing, poetry, scripture, and metaphor to provide a felt sense of the presence of each embodied element. By harmonizing the five elements, we increase the flow of prana through all the channels of the subtle body. Practice includes meditation, flowing movements (SATYA), dharma study, and both dynamic and therapeutic asana.

Work IN Through the Body

Did you know your brain and body thrive when you move in a variety of ways?  “Novelty, creativity, challenge, attention, organization, reset, focus, listen, rewire” are all words that we use in LYT Yoga Method because they represent the action of going in. Through the body, we discover hidden or closed-down pathways that we fire up through specific developmental patterns. By working in through the body, we might witness thoughts or perceptions about ourselves that we can reframe or rewrite. Through the body, we literally and metaphorically sweat NEW cells of transformative juice that refuels us and reminds us that we CAN and we WILL be the authors of our own stories through the power of the body-brain team. With the mindfulness of yoga and the intelligence of physical therapy,  this LYT experience will empower you with education about the body so you can feel at home. Work IN Through the Body.

Learning to Soar: Discovering the Language of Aerial Yoga - [$]

Every yoga practice has a beginning. Aerial Yoga is no exception. Whether new to this style of yoga or a wisened practitioner, this session will focus on the language of aerial yoga through a beginner's “mind”.

Soaring for the very first time, at this moment, we will root ourselves into aerial yoga’s language within the field of longevity.

Grounded in the traditions of Hatha Yoga, we will first explore the nuances of aerial yoga postures, where the hammock becomes a partner in assisting body and breath movement, in forward folds, arm balances, twists, standing balances, inversions, and reclined positions.

Once discovered, known as the way of the aerial hammock, the way will become the roots for finding depth in our stretches, elongation in our muscles, opening in our hearts, decompression in our spines, and rejuvenation in our Souls. Once discovered, we will find clues to the way this practice assists us at any age in supporting our longevity and what that might mean in individual and collective development. No experience is necessary.

In practice, we stretch, lift, and turn to find space around the diaphragm, fascia, nerve endings, and spine. We look to cultivate space not only inside the body but space in our lives and in everything we do. How do we develop an aesthetic appreciation for space and learn to not fill it up with our wants and needs? How can we sense that space itself offers a feeling of the sublime? In this class, we generate feelings of spacious delight in both heart and mind through freedom of movement and a free-flowing breath.

Dreaming Into an Ecological World: Invigorate Your Life in the Aerial Yoga Hammock - [$]

Tapping into the source of your inner “fire” we will move together with the aerial hammock as our assistant, to cultivate a hOMe world where all life matters. Begin “Close In” poet, David Whyte suggests. We begin this practice by activating our core with postures and expressions that invite a particular way of belonging to/in/within our bodies. Dynamic movement will be the cornerstone of this practice.

From the vision of eco-philosopher David Abram, who re-introduces us to the “more-than-human” world, and deep-time scholar, Joanna Macy, who invites us to see that every action/movement matters, I invite you to join me in extending your heart fire towards who you are becoming and what you stand for. Bridging a series of aerial postures together, discover how your belonging contributes to dreaming of a more ecological world.

This practice intentionally recognizes the vitality you hold within, as a key component, to a dream I have in a current and future thriving, generative hOMe world. No aerial yoga experience is necessary.

To add this to your schedule, please purchase a $30 SUP or Aerial Yoga Add-On ticket here.

The Japanese philosophy of “shinrin-yoku (森林浴)”- ‘Forest Bathing’™ is a delicious practice that rejuvenates the body, soul, and spirit. Drawing upon the energy of Telluride's native trees, mountains, and flowing water, we will immerse ourselves into a more yin aerial yoga practice, discovering ways to bring our souls back into equilibrium. Our wild selves will discover how to find this soothing "forest" energy so we may bring it into our home places. The Spine and the Middle Way

As the world becomes more and more divided, we are called to realize the path of The Middle Way. The Middle Way as taught by the Buddha is a place free from extremes, extremes that polarize, isolate, and cause imbalance.

In practice, we embody these teachings within the central axis of the body. One of the names for the mid-line of the body is the Madhya Nadi or Middle Channel. By moving prana through the “core” structures deep within the spine, we awaken to the Middle Path. Through yoga postures, pranayama, sounding, and visualization we tap into the Middle Channel of the spine. Then, amid a rapidly changing world, we come to realize how the Middle Way is a path to both equanimity and peace.

Ma Ganga River Walk & Ritual

This lovely river walk and ritual will be reminiscent of the traditional flower and prayer offerings to Ma Ganga, the great river Goddess of the Ganges in India. It is said that all rivers are Ma Ganga and our beautiful San Miguel River, which runs through Telluride, is no different. All rivers are sacred and can be accessed for healing, carrying prayers, and letting go.

The San Miguel River Trail is an easy, flat trail. Melanie will guide the way and pause at several strategic places (including a waterfall) to tell the stories of the River Goddesses, chant, pray, and offer flower petals as sacred ritual.

Difficulty: Easy
Distance: 1.5 miles

The Regenerative Revolution: Balancing Body, Mind, and Soil

In yoga, we commit to conserving the precious prana (vital air) we are given. The life force of the body, however, is inseparable from the life force of the planet. This lecture and meditation explores how the ecosystem of the subtle body —the breath, bloodstream and thought waves-- is interdependent with all of nature.  We will discuss what regenerative agriculture is and how can we apply its principles to our bodies, minds, and farms to promote restorative ecologically conscious systems. This discussion digs deep into the idea of building healthy soils and biosequestration through practices and design, and the importance of regenerative agricultural methods to mitigate climate change. These panelists explore how it is essential to also work with the practices of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness before, during, and after operations to fully integrate the regenerative lifestyle for the health, and wellbeing of people, plants, and the planet.

Flow State Vinyasa

Get ready to immerse yourself fully in the present moment and tap into the exhilarating state of flow through this transformational vinyasa practice of breath and movement.

Flow State, also known as being "in the zone," is a mental state of heightened focus, complete engagement, and pure enjoyment in the activity at hand. In our Vinyasa Yoga practice, we harness the essence of 'Flow State' through the seamless transition of poses and the synchronicity of breath and movement.

Led by Donny, this class will guide you through a dynamic and balanced sequence designed to awaken your senses and ignite your inner fire. With each breath, you will flow gracefully from one posture to the next, allowing the body to move intuitively and effortlessly.  The first half of the practice will be dedicated to flowing through sequences with one breath per movement, inviting you to surrender to the flow and embrace the fluidity of the practice. In the second half of the class, we will transition into holding postures, allowing you to delve deeper into the experience of each pose while remaining anchored in the present moment. Throughout the entire practice, you will be encouraged to let go of distractions and distractions and to cultivate a sense of inner stillness and clarity.

By the end of this practice, you will emerge feeling revitalized, centered, and deeply connected to the goal of yoga... FREEDOM!

Your Brain on Nature: An Inverted Aerial Yoga Practice - [$]

Turn the brain upside down. Feel the benefits of delivering more oxygen and nutrients to your brain and giving your pumping heart a break by practicing inverted postures with the aerial yoga hammock.

Inversions become accessible in this practice as the aerial yoga hammock safely suspends your body. Defying the confines of gravity, arm balances, forward folds, and lotus pose take on new meaning.

The possibility of holding inversions longer, anchoring in alignment, and exploring the ways air opens the door to previously unattainable postures is what makes this practice playful and fascinating.

Practice your yoga in the air to move freely, release fear, and float into a deeper understanding of your well-being as the blood reverses itself. Improve circulation, traction the spine, detoxify and increase immunity, and shift your energy with this practice. See the world from a shifted perspective and feel held in its infinite potential. No aerial yoga experience is necessary.

To add this to your schedule, please purchase a $30 SUP or Aerial Yoga Add-On ticket here.

The stress and tension we often experience with the constant use of these hi-tech tools does not have to cause our neck and shoulders any more suffering. Please bring one yoga strap.

Zen Flow: Find Your Inner Peace

Take time to relax, refresh, and renew. If you're overwhelmed with a busy mind, Yin can help to soothe your thoughts, encourage inward focus, and allow your body to experience deep relaxation. A perfect complement to Vinyasa, essentially the "yin" to your "yang". Yin Yoga uses long, passive holds to target and heal the connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones, joints, and fascia. The holds can be challenging, and the benefits are amazing - regulated energy, lower stress, deeper relaxation, improved health... A delicious treat essential for all levels! No experience necessary.

Simple Is The New Advanced: Vinyasa For The Mindful

The complexity of many creative Vinyasa classes may make it difficult to experience the deeper dimensions of the practice and can shift us into “keep up” mode. In this practice, we align with the original intelligence of Vinyasa – to place in an intentional way. We’ll move in a way that cultivates sharper inner focus, patience, and a broader and deeper sense of purpose. Without forsaking the feeling of flow nor the challenge of growth, we’ll explore how less really can be more.

Riding the Edge of Change

In movement practice, we are always exploring the edge of change and transformation. In this practice, we touch into every stretch, every sensation, and inner perception as a new edge, not to be conquered and overcome, but to be discovered and embodied. In this way, we allow a new shape, a new way of being in the world to manifest, something startling, unique, and fresh. In this practice, we do hip openers and spinal release work, to stay on the cusp of continuous change.

Unplug & Reset with Forest Bathing

During this 1.5-hour immersive your guide, Glenda Russell, offers guided sensory meditation and prompts to engage deeply with sensory experiences, which can activate the parasympathetic nervous system and provide relaxation and restoration to the body. The prompts also encourage people to remember their connection to nature, fostering deeper relationships and healthy connections with the natural world.

This immersive involves very minimal walking. During the event, participants will alternate between gathering as a group and wandering about exploring on their own in the Aspen groves nearby with suggested prompts provided by your guide. This intimate gathering allows for rest and recovery after a stimulating day.

The concept of forest bathing is derived from the Japanese practice known as Shinrin-Yoku, which means "forest bath" and involves immersing oneself in the forest atmosphere (without actually bathing). It is a practice aimed at improving health, wellness, and joy by spending time in nature. Forest bathing combines elements of meditation and nature connection, helping to quiet the monkey mind or mental chatter and focus on the sensations experienced by the body in the present moment. With deep roots derived from Daoism and Zen Buddhism, we surrender to the flow of the rhythm of nature by slowing down and allowing.

Difficulty: Easy
Elevation Gain: not much :)
Time: Approx.1.5 hours round trip

Brett Dennen: Moon Mountain Trio Tour Concert

The Sheridan Arts Foundation presents Brett Dennen Moon Mountain Trio Tour live in concert at the historic Sheridan Opera House on Saturday, June 29. Doors at 8 PM, SHOW at 9 PM.

Check out  Brett Dennan & Band  music HERE

Brett Dennen: Soulful Storyteller and Vibrant Folk-Pop Virtuoso

Brett Dennen, a Northern California native, has been captivating audiences for nearly two decades with his distinct blend of folk-pop melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, and soulful vocal prowess. His signature red hair and lanky frame are as unmistakable as the music that has earned him legions of dedicated fans and critical acclaim.
Dennen’s musical journey began in earnest at Camp Jack Hazard, a summer camp where he first discovered his love for singing and songwriting. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell, Dennen crafted his own unique style that reflects his passion for storytelling and social commentary.

Dennen’s debut album, Brett Dennen (2004), introduced the world to his undeniable talent and served as a springboard for a career that has since seen the release of several successful albums including So Much More (2006), Hope for the Hopeless (2008), Loverboy (2011), Smoke and Mirrors (2013), Por Favor (2016), and See The World (2021). Each record has showcased his evolution as an artist, with a growing mastery of his craft and the ability to convey complex emotions through his songwriting.

With a successful string of albums and several Top Ten AAA singles like “Make You Crazy,” “Wild Child,” and 2018’s “Already Gone.” His single “See The World,” off the album of the same name, reaching Top Five on the AAA charts, Dennen has cemented himself as a fixture in American pop/folk music. He released his most recent single, “This Is Going To Be The Year,” on Mick Music.

Dennen’s live performances are characterized by his infectious energy and charisma, with each show a heartfelt expression of his love for music and connection with his audience. His insightful lyrics often touch on themes of love, nature, and social justice, resonating with fans who appreciate the genuine emotion and thoughtfulness behind his art.

In recent years, Brett Dennen has started to let the world in on his secrets. In 2017, he created the “Lift Series,” an annual tour wherein he combines shows in ski towns with conservation initiatives and education in each locale. An avid skier and surfer as well as a conservationist, Dennen works with local organizations to spearhead beach clean-ups and educate young people to become climate stewards, driving awareness through his music and marrying just a few of his many sides in one effort to help drive positive change. Despite the success of his career, Dennen’s connection to his roots remains. In 2022, he tapped into his love for the outdoors and summer camp memories, hosting the first annual Camp Dennen outdoor retreat at Constellation Creek in the greater Lake Tahoe area, establishing a space for community, nature, music, and art.

With his undeniable talent, magnetic stage presence, and unwavering dedication to his craft, Brett Dennen has carved out a unique niche for himself in the world of singer-songwriters. As he continues to evolve as an artist, fans and critics alike eagerly await the next chapter in this remarkable musician’s storied career.

Yoga church is in session! This is your Sunday mindfulness, movement, and message that will free your mind and serve your soul. Join Donny for his annual Sunday Service-inspired yoga flow that is the PERFECT way to start your final day at the festival.

We will begin class with a grounding meditation and continue into a Vinyasa Flow with the intention of "Service" and taking your yoga off of the mat and sharing it with the world. It's the yoga on the mat and off that serves our soul and sets us free. With each movement we will cultivate a sense of selflessness and compassion, knowing that the practice of yoga extends far beyond the boundaries of our mats.

This balanced, grounded, and heart-opening practice will remind you why we practice yoga, leaving you feeling inspired to step up, show up, and be of service to a world that needs your light. Together, let us embrace the true essence of yoga – union, connection, and service to all beings.

The Tao of Yoga

In the high country of Colorado, the vitality of nature is everywhere evident. In the Far East, the force behind all nature is known as the Tao. The Tao is said to be always changing and like moving water, flows naturally and  spontaneously. In this class we yoke to the vital Tao by honing the prana or chi. Like water flowing through the ravines, creeks and valleys of Telluride, we enhance the pathway of blood, lymph and nerve through stretching and flowing movements. Using arcs, curves, spirals and elliptical movements, we express the force, dynamism, and intelligence of water. In this class, Tias weaves in verses from the Tao te Ching in order to embody the poetry, wisdom,  and spiritual guidance that the Taoist teachings provide.

Reset & Recalibrate with Forest Bathing

Note: This session starts and ends in the Mountain Village.

Tea and Tarot

The Tea Ceremony is a perfect elemental art. Silently, we drink tea from ancient trees grown in reverence. In this special space, we give the water, fire, and tea leaves a chance to communicate with us in their subtle and silent tongue. Old-growth trees have been taking in sunlight, rainwater, and starlight for hundreds of years. Drinking tea from their leaves in a ceremonial space allows us access to parts of our hearts that we usually cannot reach.

This practice pairs perfectly with tarot. After the tea ceremony (three bowls of tea in silence), we draw cards for the entire group and then for the individuals present who want personal readings.

Tarot card reading is like looking at oneself through the clarifying reflection of an intuitive friend. In these sessions, you are invited to participate as Jade interprets the tarot cards you draw from their deck. Tarot is not about reading the future or divining destiny. The cards are a set of elemental archetypes so ancient and true that we find ourselves magnetized to those that speak to our present situation.

You will leave this session feeling honored and held in reverence. A practice of tea ceremony and tarot can allow you to feel reconnected to your intuition. The elemental realm is already working on your behalf to create what your higher self desires. When we listen to the heart’s wisdom, we open to following the watercourse way toward what is in our highest potential.

We'll gather this summer on a Sunday afternoon to take our yoga practice to the water for a soulful and heartfelt workshop and flow on Elk Lake as we seal the learning, connection, contentment, and peace from a weekend well lived.  As my teacher and mentor Maty Ezraty used to say, “Keep in mind that when you practice yoga, you're not practicing to improve yourself. You are perfect. The practice is there to help you know that.” And together, for an afternoon we'll do just that, we'll make space and time to practice, re-remember, and sit in the beauty and goodness of our true nature.

What to Bring: Please bring a hat, swimsuit, water-wicking layers or yoga clothes you like to practice in, water, and sunscreen.

To add this to your schedule, please purchase a $30 SUP or Aerial Yoga Add-On ticket here.
